- beer.
- a small salad, because shepherd's pie is kind of rich and filling
- a light salad for example a lettuce mix
- A good green salad-old fashioned tossed salad, with lots of veggies- tomatoes, cukes, onions, carrots, lettuce, good croutons, and a ranch dressing sound great!
- green salad and fresh crusty bread. Nice glass of wine.
- i would have a red leaf salad with extra fixings available and some rolls...
- Oh just a green salad and some good baked crusty bread with lots of butter. Shepards pie is very filling so you can almost serve it with just the bread on the side.
- This is a traditional British recipe, and when we were in London, it was mainly served with French Fries. If you have problems with 2 types of potatoes at the same meal, you might look at what veggies are not in the pie. I really like.... ORANGE ORIENTAL VEGETABLES Cook zucchini, yellow squash, & carrots separately until tender. (usually 15 min. in a steamer) Arrange together & pour on the sauce made of: ½ c. sugar 4 tsp. cornstarch 1 1/3 c. orange juice Cook sauce till thick & tender. Heat veggies & sauce before serving together.
- SYROSYE (cherry pottage) The Modern Version: 2 lbs ripe red cherries 1 1/2 cups white wine 3/4 cup sugar 4 Tbsp butter 1 cup breadcrumbs pinch of salt garnish: flower heads of clove pinks (optional) sugar, preferably raw sugar if available Wash the cherries and remove the stems and stones. Puree the fruit in a blender with 1/2 cup of the wine and half the sugar. Add a little more wine as needed to get a smooth puree. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the fruit puree, breadcrumbs, remaining wine, remaining sugar, and salt. Simmer, stirring often, until the puree is very thick. Pour into a serving bowl, cover, and let cool. The cherry pottage should be the consistency of a thick apple sauce. Refridgerate until served. Before serving, decorate the edge of the bowl with the clove pinks, if desired. Sprinkle the sugar over the dish.
- A salad and/or biscuits go good with shepherds pie, they go with everything!
- Milkshake maybe...
- Hot biscuit ! Easy Biscuit Mixture Use as you would a baking mix. The possibilities are endless! INGREDIENTS 10 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup baking powder 1/4 cup white sugar 2 teaspoons salt 2 cups shortening DIRECTIONS In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 weeks
- Greens in any form or manner, and a very good coarse bread. A light dessert, like cheese and fruits, or pears stewed in wine.
- I would say a nice sourdough bread maybe with galic butter and chesse.
- I would suggest some chantenay carrots, very attractive and flavoursome. Along with some purple sprouting brocolli you are sure to impress!
